I read a study that came out of Yale this year highlighting the keys to happiness and one of the pillars is daily gratitude. Whether it's the business of life, negativity in the news, or the culture of "more" material goods it's easy to be focused on all of the bad or what is lacking and miss all of the goodness in this beautiful world. We are trying, failing regularly, but putting in the effort to create an environment of gratitude in our home and to model it for our kids. We started with our gratitude books and try to incorporate the question, "What are you thankful for that happened today?" into our meal time discussions. I'll admit we probably spend more time trying to keep our kids seated at the table and actually eating than talking but it's a start! I'd love to hear from you they ways that you are incorporating gratitude into daily life.
